Power

Taylor depicts herself as bright pink with a dark background in this self portrait. This is representative of her belief that when facing adversity, fear or darkness, she holds the power of becoming the bright color she needs in any given moment. Taylor’s uplifted outlook does not come from a false positivity, rather, it is a result of an arduous journey of self work and healing thus displaying a facial expression of neutrality. The mandala in this portrait was originally drawn by Taylor in 2013 during a challenging time. Despite the abundance of mandalas drawm, this particular mandala evoked a feeling of warrior strength and courage when Taylor needed it most.
